East Lyme Soccer Association

The East Lyme Soccer Association (ELSA) is a volunteer-run organization. All coaches, coordinators, and board members are volunteers working to create the best opportunities for all children in East Lyme, CT to learn, play and enjoy the game of soccer. If you have child playing soccer in town or just love the game and would like to help out, here are some ways to get involved and keep the program running smoothly.

"Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart." - Elizabeth Andrew (Habitat for Humanity)

Coaching: We are always looking for good coaches to join the ranks! You can mentor as an assistant coach or jump in with both feet. If you don't have coaching experience or know little about the game, don't worry...there are many resources to get started. ELSA even offers financial reimbursement for accredited courses upon completion. Click here to sign up as a coach.

Attend Meetings: Parents and coaches, you are welcome and encouraged to attend ELSA planning meetings which are held on the 1st Wednesday of every month at the East Lyme Community Center (Olive Chendali Room).

Help with Evaluations: In the springtime, ELSA holds mandatory player evaluations for U9-U14 divisions to qualify for travel soccer league in the fall. Evaluations focus on at least 4 basic skills: running speed, dribbling, passing accuracy under pressure, and the ability to receive a pass (also known as "first touch"). This event is a big undertaking and the program needs lots of help to run the four development stations and evaluate a large number of players each year.

Thanks to all the volunteers who keep the youth soccer program
running smoothly in the Town of East Lyme!
